Can You Spare an Hour?
Just one hour of your time will help the DLC continue to provide free literacy services to those in need.
If tutoring is not for you, we have other ways in which you can volunteer. Our Volunteer Coordinator will work with you and your schedule to find the right volunteer opportunity for you.
If you can spare at least an hour, please let us know. We are actively seeking volunteers at this time.
Make a Financial Pledge
As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, financial donations to the Dare Literacy Council are 100% tax-deductible.
Donated funds help us continue our literacy programs, enable us to purchase books for our students and additional literacy resources for our tutors. Donations also provide funding for training of our Assessment and Training Team members.
Many of our students struggle to pay for literacy materials so the DLC gives books to students at no charge after a level of commitment is demonstrated. Here are some ways your donation helps:
$20 gives a student one workbook to take home to practice lessons learned in tutoring sessions
$35 provides one teacher's edition book to be added to the DLC Literacy Resource collection
$75 buys one complete set of books (includes student workbook with CD, corresponding activity workbook and teacher's guide)
Financial donations can be made payable to:
